What makes art so special?

Pablo Picasso ones said: “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls”. This is what I set out to achieve with my art to get completely swamped in creativity.

I was a keen artist from an early age and had that inner feeling of creativity. My mother was  artistic, my first boyfriend studied at an Academy of Fine Art and pulled me into the world of art. I was surrounded by artists, experimenting painting and actually started thinking about becoming an artist one day. I earned an MBA degree from the University in Poland, then relocated to London where I attended art classes and studied form, colour, composition, style, mediums and main rules of art.

Unfortunately I couldn't continue to develop my art for many years because of my marriage, motherhood and professional commitments. Years have gone by and luckily in 2013 in Melbourne - Australia I found art classes, online tuition and workshops to continue with my desire to paint in my own studio facing a picturesque view of Sanctuary Lakes Golf Course, Victoria.

I began to paint in acrylics then moved onto oil paints as the main medium, painting alla prima. Influenced by French Impressionist artist I use part of their approach in a Contemporary way which gives me significant challenges, freedom, fun to experiment with my style. Through my work and personal magical experiences, I love to create bold colourful brushstrokes. Applying texture, movement and spontaneous shapes in sky colours, light, shadows and reflections.  My passion to paint comes from a deep feeling and appreciation of all that is beautiful in nature surrounding our daily lives. That is my interpretation and emotional response to precious memories from the countries I have lived in and travelled to.  As well as painting landscapes and seascapes, I also paint still life and abstracts.

I have been fortunate to take part in fantastic Master tuitions by Australian artist like David Chen, Mike Barr, Richard Claremont and Colley Whisson. These artists have become my main inspiration in Australia and helped me to grow immensely as an artist. I have also completed a number of private commission sales in Europe and the USA, had sell-out exhibitions, solo and group exhibitions.

In my artistic journey I love my artwork to stand out, speak to viewers and appeal to their eyes and heart. When not painting I love to play golf which i started only six years ago and have painted a few golf scenes as well.

I am a member of Victorian Artist Society and active contributor of art communities and charities.
