Maureen grew up in Liverpool, England. She came to Australia with her family in 1967. She studied fine arts when in her middle twenties then spent many years working and travelling around Australia and many other countries. Maureen eventually settled in Frankston on the Mornington Peninsula. She has had an interest in art and art history since childhood. She now has a grown family and grandchildren and is a retired Remedial Masseur and Bowen Therapist of many years experience. Maureen now divides her time between her family and working in her studio . Raja Yoga meditation has also become a big part of her life. Maureen's main art interest is abstract painting. Concentrating mainly on composition . Since the beginning of 20 20 she has been working towards being more intuitive in her mark making and freeing up her work. Working from the start of a painting without any expectations of what the finished painting will look like and letting her mark making come from her soul. Experamenting is crucial to her and has opened up to many different ways of working.
