After The Show

Description : Prepare to be dazzled by this striking image titled "After the Show", captured in Switzerland with a stunning Leica camera under the cover of darkness. The rain-slicked chairs are stacked haphazardly, their chrome-plated steel frames glistening in the glow of the streetlights, creating an enchanting ambiance that is both haunting and surreal. The symmetrical arrangement of the chairs and the mesmerising repetition of the stacked frames lead the viewer's eyes on a delightful journey around the image, offering a truly breathtaking visual feast. This artwork is a true masterpiece, skill-fully harnessing the power of monochrome imagery to create a truly unforgettable experience for the senses.

Born in Switzerland, Oliver Altermatt has been fascinated by the art of photography ever since he was able to borrow his fathers polaroid.

His first camera, a Yashica  was gifted to him at the age of 12. A dark room followed soon after and many happy hours were spent developing and printing black and white images.

The start of the digital world was the end of Oliver’s commitment to this great hobby. His interests were re-kindled some years later what inspired him to enrol in the Advanced Diploma of Photography at PSC (Photography Studies College, Melbourne), and presently studying at RMIT BFA.

Apart from Street Photography, Oliver is very passionate about portraits, -Art Nude, - Street and Social Documentary photography.

The project "Faces Down Under", a portrait series of Aboriginals from Australia along the East, North and West coast was successfully exhibited at Photo Schweiz in February 2022.

The solo exhibition is opened on the 2nd of September in Olten, Switzerland. A selection of work such as Street, Portraits and Les baigneuses dans l'océan was on display.
